Assignment

 

The assignment is to develop an Executive Presentation of the Business Case, using Microsoft PowerPoint. Its purpose is to convince the decision-maker to support the project and to make an investment in the proposed solution. Although the Security Plan and Performance Measures are not due until Week 8, they should be included at a high level in the presentation. Due to the time constraints in the eight week class, the business case and the presentation will not include specific project costs. All sections of the business case are to be included. Important sections of the business case, such as the project plan and the technical architecture are to be included in more detail and illustrated appropriately.

 

This presentation is to be developed by your team for Jerry to present to the bank loan officer to describe what his business problem is and how an investment in IT would help him. The objective for Jerry is to obtain the funding from the bank for his investment. (Your team should not be mentioned in the presentation.)

Each slide should have a title and a limited number of bullet points. A presentation should capture key bullet points and not include complete paragraphs and detailed text.  The bullet points in your presentation will be supported by relevant details in the “Notes” section of the slides. Use the “Notes” area to write what you would say if you were giving this as a presentation. Presentations with limited or no “Notes” will receive much lower grades. Your presentation should have an opening that establishes the purpose of the presentation, and an appropriate conclusion.

 

While use of external resources is not required, your presentation may be strengthened by incorporating research. Remember to correctly cite and reference any sources. Any direct quotes should be indicated within the slide text with appropriate quotation marks and an in-text citation (however direct quotes should be short and used sparingly, if at all). Complete references for all sources should be included in the corresponding Notes section. Paraphrased material can just be
